  • VW Beetle 6Q0909605AL Error 00003

    Hello,

I have a VW Beetle 6Q0909605AL Airbag ECU with Internal Error. I suspect the usual 00003 fault but I cannot read the ECU to make sure as I do not have the car.

Do you know the diagnostic connections and what to read this ECU as on the workbench?

AST CAN does not seem to have teh power/diagnostic connections.

The ECU looks very similar to a Porsche 997 ECU.

On the Porsche ECU I know CAN H is pin 49 and CAN L is pin 50 (two rows of 25 pins, 50 in total. Pin one bottom left and Pin fifty top right) but I do not know the the CAN connections for this VW ECU.

I have found power connections with ~150mA consumption on workbench.

I have attached images and original EEPROM read.

Can you help with connections and which ECU to read as on workbench?

    Many Thanks.

Try the pinout connection from the part number 1K0909605A.

Power Connections good but no comms. Swapped CAN wires around and even tried two pins above also.

The connection pinout is normal, but it may be a different diagnostic protocol, we will try to add it in the next update.
Write this file and install the SRS ECU on the car, password in PM.
