there is no ford uart pinout listed, is it the same as for land rover with the pin that has to be lifted?

Yes its the same MCU, just different pcb. You can find connection points with a multi metre with MCU diagram

damn thats unfortunate, too easily the pin that you must lift breaks and then the customer wants you to buy a new control unit. the risk is simply too big, hopefully a safer solution than lifting that tiny pin will come soon.
