  • Smart-Prog - Files not working properly !!!

This message is for Smart-Prog. I have used your Airbag Service Tool, and lately, most of the files are not clearing the crash data correctly. I been sending these out to be cleared and when I compare them to your clear dump, most of the times is different and the other one works just fine. Do you think there is a problem with the software? Do you know how those guys clear the crash data? when they say "Tested Solutions" what is this mean and how do they do it? Please help me because I can't trust your software for now.

Unfortunately I have same experiences from the first moment, and I have to agree with you about that problem. When I bought the tool, I was very disappointed, but later I decided to pay next year's subscription, because sometimes, if I don't have my own tested and well working solution, I can try to test with AST solution. A few time it worked, so I saved some time with, but most of the time, the dumps generated with AST are totally bad, sometimes it still have crash data stored, but most of the times ECU error appears. I think the sw is working correctly, as usually I got also non working solution after many days, or no reply from support too...

      thank you for your comment.
What do you use then, to make sure your files are well cleared.
Do you have any idea how the guys who offer the " tested solutions" service, do their job? because it works every time.
Any help to make the job better and easier will help. Thanks again

The only one way to be sure about any solution, especially on new generations ECUS, is as first step, to diagnose on bench, to check that there's no crash data stored any more, non ecu error. Then you can test in the car, but you have to be careful, and you have to check every single stupid fault on the car. Sometimes a bad way clearing can cause very strange faults on different systems like ESP of Start-stop system, so if there's no fault stored on airbag, then still can be different problems in the car because of a bad way clearing.

How do you diagnose on bench, is there a special programmer or tool to do this? or software?
          Thanks again

We are having same issue's two recent ecu having errors on after a reset. Normally I just pay for a solution from somewhere else and move on but lm starting to lose faith in CPT. Maybe we could have a separate section so when we find reset solutions that don't work we can post and hopefully they are dealt with as a priority.

                        the first issue is
                        Volvo P31387534
Crash was deleted but ecu had an u30000 error.

                        xc2361a-56f-bank3-crash.bin
                        xc2361a-56f-bank3-crash_cleared.bin

Nissan 98820-4EH0B Car comes in later today Crash still present
                        flash1-crash.bin
                        flash1-crash_cleared.bin

                        Any advice?
